Geno’s story began in 1987 with Geno, the original owner of Genos’ Porta Portuguesa which was situated on a bustling Rietfontein Road. The next chapter of the story started in 1993 when my dad, Tony Graca took over from Geno and expanded the business with a clear and unique vision of the future of a family-oriented “home away from home” restaurant. Sadly, in 2003, my dad passed away and I took over the business and the story had by no means come to an end. In 2008, we decided to move across the road to 22 Foxglove Street in Primrose, where we have been ever since.
Now a new chapter has unfolded as a revamped Tony G’s has opened in the trendy suburb of Bedfordview in Kloof Mall. Our Menu remains unique and authentic and our family restaurant continues to ensure that all our patrons are well looked after in relaxed surroundings while feasting on the culinary talents of the late Tony G and our family team. It continues to cater for corporate, social events/functions; including christenings, 21sts, birthdays and weddings.
For the sport enthusiasts, we have a big screen where you can enjoy your favourite sports while enjoying an exquisite Portuguese meal. The authentic feel which our family originally strived for, remains in our delicious food and continues to be a place which feels like home. So, our story continues and an exciting new chapter begins.
